Microchipping
Crosspoint Veterinary Hospital recommends microchipping your pets in the event they wander away from you or your home. A microchip is a small device that is about the size of a grain of rice. The chip is inserted beneath the skin, between the shoulder blades and is no more painful than a standard injection. The chip contains a number which is unique to you and your pet. In the event they become lost and are taken to a shelter or another veterinary clinic, the chip will be read and you will be contacted to be reunited with your furry friend. All pets should be mircrochipped, as this process greatly improves the opportunity to be returned to you should they become lost.
